Diamondbacks Hitting Coach Don Baylor Hospitalized

Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reported via Twitter that Diamondbacks hitting coach Don Baylor was wheeled out of their clubhouse on a stretcher. We don't have any update on Baylor's condition yet.

Baylor, 62, was the first manager in the Colorado Rockies' history, leading them to their 1st playoff berth as the 1995 NL Wild Card Winner and won himself Manager of the Year honors in the process. As the Rockies' manager, he compiled a 440-469 record (.484).

Baylor was named to Clint Hurdle's All Star staff in 2008, and was hired by the club as hitting coach for the 2009 playoff run. He was retained for a disappointing 2010 before parting ways with the Rockies and hired by the Diamondbacks in the same role.

Tom Haudricourt of the Journal Sentinal is reporting that Baylor lost consciousness and that an EKG came back negative. Hoping that means all is clear for Baylor.

Updates as we get them.
