Sorry this Rockpile is going to be really short on content today, as I'm late posting it and busy today. At least the team is in the acceptance stage it seems right now, as the first two links will point out. The question, as ever, is what to do about it.

Denver Post:

  • Troy E. Renck: The Rockies need to spend in the offseason to make the team better. At some point I have to address Jeff Aberle's counterpoints to my opinion (and Renck's) about Michael Cuddyer being what this team needs. Not today, though, other than to say that it's not a good sign for Colorado that Cuddyer at 32 is outproducing Seth Smith at 28 in right field if we're pinning our hopes on the latter, and Cuddyer will at least be able to play elsewhere on the field at a semi-passable level if need be. At any rate, other free agent possibilities are also brought up by Renck.
  • Tracy: Failure has to make us better - Well, I guess there's still some denial in this. Uhm, maybe playing better, and getting better players will make the team better.
  • Troy Tulowitzki comes through in Rockies win over Padres
