Hall of Fame ballot update: Larry Walker struggling to get votes

Not much out there today in terms of Colorado Rockies news, but there is some interesting Hall of Fame-related stuff, most notably a Google spreadsheet maintained by someone known only as LeoKitty (Twitter: @LeoKitty) that is tracking the ballots of each of the HOF voters.

What can be summed up so far is that Larry Walker is in danger of disappearing off the ballot, as Andrew Fisher pointed out, as Walk has only received about 7.8 percent of the votes so far, with 38 ballots having been cast and submitted to LeoKitty (I really wish I could refer to this person as something else).

Tim Raines is the clubhouse leader in votes, garnering 27 out of the 38, which is good for 71 percent, but not good enough to get him into the Hall if those numbers stand. I think Rock is a definite Hall of Famer, and it would be a shame for him to miss out yet again.

As for Walker, he has a strong case for election, as well. This has been talked about in great detail on this site in recent days, so I won't get too far into it. However, Walker is sixth in park-adjusted OPS+ among players on the ballot. His 141 OPS+ is also identical to that of Chipper Jones, who is considered by most to be a surefire Hall of Famer when his time comes five years from now (again, hat-tip to Fish, who everyone NEEDS to follow on Twitter).

We'll watch how the balloting continues to play out, but right now it's not looking good for Walker -- or anyone else up for election, for that matter.
