Through 24 games, the Rockies are decidedly average. Given the pitching matchup tonight, they will probably be slightly below average after this game. Then again, this is at home, the Rockies are undefeated on Friday, and baseball is weird.
Tim Hudson only has one start under his belt in 2012 (due to recovery from back surgery), so he might not be giving Atlanta the length he usually does. However, if the 36 year-old right-hander is on his game he'll be a tough opponent since his skill set (a groundballer with good control) is a good fit for Coors, though he doesn't strike out too many.
Meanwhile, Guillermo Moscoso will be getting at least one more start before Jeremy Guthrie is able to come off the DL (more if he takes Jhoulys Chacin's spot in the rotation). He'll need to keep Colorado in the game by giving them some length against a tough pitching opponent.
It should be an interesting series against the 2nd place team in the NL East.
