Tonight is going to be more an exploration in how awesome Stephen Strasburg is. I know it's a bit disingenuous to be this excited to see an opposing pitcher, but hey, I did it back in 2006 when Roger Clemens was still with the Astros. Clemens pitched pretty well, and then Garrett Atkins hit a salami off of the Houston bullpen and Brian Fuentes notched the save.
It was a pretty good night.
I'd like to see Strasburg have an impressive outing, and then the Washington bullpen completely implode against the fury of the Baby Bull and friends.
Quick Dexter Fowler love:
For the second-straight game, Rockies center Dexter Fowler reached base safely three times last night, as he went 1-for-2 with 2 walks...on Saturday, Fowler went 3-for-4 with a home run and 2 runs scored...Fowler has hit safely in five-consecutive games, at .438 (7-for-16) with a triple, a home run, 2 RBI, 4 runs scored and 3 walks...Fowler continues to lead the Rockies with his 32 walks, while his 7 triples are tied for the NL lead with the Cubs' Starlin Castro.
- Fowler currently owns an .892 OPS (.374 OBP, .518 SLG) in his 67 games played this season...his .892 OPS is second on the club, only to Carlos Gonzalez's .989 mark (.385 OBP, .604 SLG).
- Fowler's .892 OPS is the second-best mark among National League center fielders, as only Andrew McCutchen's .975 OPS is higher.
Lineups and all that jazz after the jump.
