When you are facing CJ Wilson, the odds are not generally in your favor. They most certainly were not for the Rockies tonight anyway. Wilson hurled 8 innings of 1 run, 5 hit ball for the Angels to cruise to an easy victory over Colorado. The loss dropped Colorado to 24-33 on the year, moving them back in line for the 4th pick in next year's draft! So there's that.
24 - 33
Outside of two 2-run gopherballs served up to Torii Hunter, Alex White acquitted himself pretty well in this one. He allowed 8 hits and 4 runs (on the two aforementioned longballs), striking out 6 in 6 innings. The bullpen were their usual selves (that is, Esmil Rogers threw gas on the fire and watched it burn, the others were fine), but with Wilson on the mound the pitching in this game needed to be a lot better.
Todd Helton had 2 hits, one of them a double, to lead Colorado, while Jordan Pacheco (triple) and Marco Scutaro (double) had run-scoring hits. Other than that...not a whole lot of life from Colorado in this one. We'll get them tomorrow. Or not. But there will be a game tomorrow. Probably. Maybe it will rain.Graph: Pretty indicative of Colorado's lack of life
We Salute: Helton (.069 WPA), Relievers not named Esmil
