2012 Rockies Game #93: Jeff Francis vs. Kip Wells

Fresh off the Rockies lone pennant, in 2008 Jeff Francis figured to be the Rockies opening day starter, but a preseason injury and a variety of other circumstances led to a bad omen for the year when Kip Wells took that slot instead. Wells won that game, but the rest of that season, both pitchers careers, and the Rockies themselves have been more or less drifting south since. This game therefore represents the embodiment of all of our shattered Rocktober dreams...

I'm guessing that the Padres only employ Wells to rub all of the Rockies post Game 163 failures in. Low blow, San Diego, low blow.
