Jordan Pacheco singled in Michael Cuddyer with the go ahead run and then came around to score himself on a Ramon Hernandez hit as the Rockies beat the Padres 8-6 on Saturday night. Pacheco and Cuddyer were active early in the game too, as Cuddyer had four hits overall in the game and scored three times, while Pacheco wound up doing most of the driving him in as he finished with three hits and four RBI. Josh Rutledge, Tyler Colvin and Hernandez also added two hits to the cause.
Jeff Francis pitched five innings and allowed five runs to San Diego in PETCO Park, which has been playing like Coors Field West for some reason this series, but still wasn't on the hook for a loss as the Rockies had scored six in that time. While the bullpen did a stellar job after Francis left, limiting the Padres to one run in seven innings, that one run in the bottom of the ninth off Matt Belisle sent the game into extras before the Rockies pulled through.
