Bad, bad pitching matchup today for the Rockies, as they face the man who shut them down at Coors Field for seven innings a little over a week ago. The only bit of good news for the Rox is that (hopefully ) Road Jeremy Guthrie will take the mound today; Road Guthrie has a 3.77 ERA and strikes out five batters per nine innings (although he walks batters at a greater rate than his Coors Field counterpart).

In the "really, really small victories" department, the Rockies will avoid going into the All-Star break at over 20 games below .500 with a win today. They will attempt to do so with a lineup that probably gives them their best chance to win, which we can't always say in series finales.
