DJ LeMahieu had two hits and scored a pair of runs, including the eventual game winner off a seventh inning Josh Rutledge triple, as the Rockies defeated the Marlins 5-3 on Thursday night.

Alex White held the Marlins to two runs through four innings, lacking command, but remaining about as effective as the more dominant Ricky Nolasco before handing the mound over to the bullpen. Adam Ottavino, Matt Belisle and Rafael Betancourt continued his good work, limiting the Marlins to just four hits and a run over the last five innings, and giving the Rockies offense a chance to squeeze out the victory.

LeMahieu and Rutledge both tripled for the Rockies, while Michael Cuddyer hit a key, game tying two run home run off of Nolasco in the sixth inning to tie the game at three. This was Cuddyer's first game in almost a month after a trip to the disabled list, and for the first two times at the plate against Nolasco, it looked like he might have been rushed as his timing was way off resulting in a pair of strikeouts, but he came through in a big way when the Rockies needed the rally in the sixth.
