The bad news is that the Colorado Rockies lost to the previously winless Chris Volstad and the Chicago Cubs. The good news is that they were able to get out of Chicago an inning earlier than planned after bad weather ruined much of the series finale between the two middling clubs.
More bad news is that the Rockies' offense was able to muster up just four hits against Volstad and the less-than-intimidating Cubs bullpen, but more good news is that Jhoulys Chacin was decent once again, allowing just one run on five hits in five somewhat-efficient innings. The Rockies' bullpen was uncharacteristically ineffective, but it didn't really matter because of how putrid the lineup was.
Jonathan Herrera once again did Jonathan Herrera things (failed to get a hit and left three runners on base in the process), which makes him the LVP of today's game in my book. Chacin, along with Chris Nelson, who kept a couple of innings/rallies alive by staying patient (although he perhaps shouldn't have, as Herrera was hitting behind him) are my Cool Dudes Of The Game.
The usual stuff is after the jump...

The Rockies return home tomorrow to face the new-look (again) Los Angeles Dodgers. Should be interesting, in that the Rockies have sort of had the (previous incarnation of the) Dodgers' number this season. Let's hope it continues.
