Diamondbacks 15, Rockies 5: At Least The Fireworks Were Good

Outside of the game itself, I had a great night at the ballpark. The fireworks show was probably the best Rockies production I've seen, and I've seen some good ones. Unfortunately, the game did not go well for Colorado -- in fact, it's definitely in the running for worst game pitched all year, and that's saying something.

Arizona scored in all but one inning and had at least two baserunners in every frame as well. In all, the Diamondbacks reached on 19 hits (7 for extra bases), 8 walks (that's Matzek territory), and 1 error (the other error didn't allow a runner to reach). That''s a lot of traffic on the basepaths.

All 8 walks on the night were allowed by the Ubaldo trade return, 5 in 3 innings (80 pitches) by Drew Pomeranz and 3 in 1.1 IP by Alex White, who actually entered a 4-4 ballgame, but left it down 9-4. To be fair though, all of the Rockies pitchers were terrible tonight.

Pomeranz did hit a double tonight, one of five by the Rockies in the game. Wilin Rosario had the best game offensively, going 3-5 with a double, while both Chris Nelson and Johnny Herrera had multi-hit nights with doubles.
