Purple Row Video: When can the Rockies realistically contend?

New, comments

The Rockies have lost at least 88 games three years in a row. How long will be before the team can realistically expect to turn things around?

As referenced in this video, here are the Drag factor scores for each team in the NL West in 2013. But first, the equation used to calculate them.

Drag Factor = ((100 - wRC+) * Plate Appearances) / Team Total Non-Pitcher Plate appearances

1) An individual's Drag Factor can be calculated with the equation above.

2) A team's Drag Factor (which is more useful) can be calculated by adding the Drag Factors of everyone on the team together.
