Last night was one of the most annoying, frustrating games I have watched since...well, last year. The Rockies giving up a 6-2 lead in the sixth inning and then not being able to get an out in the bottom of the eighth was unbearable. Hopefully Jeff Francis and his teammates can quickly remove that ugly taste from our mouths and keep from being swept out of San Francisco on get-away day. We need some momentum going into San Diego and exorcising the SF demons would be a good way to get it.
Francis was vintage on Friday for the home opener. Over his career, Jeff has been more successful during day games and this will be his second in a row. Zito, meanwhile, shut out the St. Louis Cardinals for seven innings in his first start of the season, so the Rockies have their work cut out for themselves. Lineups below:
