Game Wrap: Colorado 7, Los Angeles 3

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Colorado started another game in Chavez Ravine off with a bang, scoring three runs in the top of the first via an error, a single, a walk, a double, and then a sacrifice fly. However, Juan Nicasio returned the favor by giving back two runs in the bottom of the first. He then gave up a run in the third off a wild pitch before leaving after the fourth.

As he did not complete five innings, Nicasio wasn't in line for the win, but he left with his team in the lead after the Rockies scored two more in the fourth to chase Dodgers starter Josh Beckett.

The bullpen did its job, pitching 5 innings without giving up a run. The offense was also pretty solid, with a lone exception of not taking advantage in the second with the bases loaded and Beckett on the ropes. It was a frustrating night for Wilin Rosario, who went 0 for 5 with three strikeouts. It was a good night for Josh Rutledge, who ended up 3 for 4 with a walk and a RBI. Winning this game gave the Rockies a .500 record on the road and kept them in sole possession of first place.

Record: 17-11

Games Up: 1 (on San Francisco)

Next: Off-day on Thursday before some interleague play against Tamp Bay in Colorado starting Friday.
