Game 45: Corbin vs. Garland

With a win tonight, the Rockies can move into a tie for the division lead.

Denis Poroy

After taking three out of four games from the Giants over the weekend, the Rockies begin another important series against the division leading D'Backs. Arizona's been riding a hot hand of late as they are 9-4 in their last 13 games.

They will also have their best pitcher on the mound this evening in Patrick Corbin who has a 1.52 ERA on the season and has not given up more than 2 earned runs in any of his eight starts this year. However, he has struggled mightily in his two career starts at Coors Field. Here's the ugly numbers....

9 IP, 18 hits, 11 earned runs, 5 K's, 2 BB's.

One of these two trends will end tonight.

Meanwhile, the Rockies will send Jon Garland to hill. The Rockies righty has pitched exactly five innings, surrendered exactly seven hits, and has given up exactly three runs in each of his last three starts.
