After a sensational extra innings win last night that saw Chacin dominate before falling off a cliff in the seventh, the Rockies have a chance too take the series in today's early day game. Last week I said that the Rockies could be poised for a roll and a win today would send them into an off day and then a road trip officially rolling.
After last Thursday's 8-6 loss, the Rockies May had started out a dissapointing 5-9. Winning today would bring them back to .500 for the month and could put them into a first place tie with the Giants. The key items to their recent success has been the return of Fowler's and Rosario's bats. This trend needs to continue as Cargo and Tulo can't score enough runs by themselves to win every game.
Another ingredient to the recent winning ways has been strong pitching, and Jorge will look to keep up his recent ways against the Diamondbacks. He has been the ace of the staff lately and another strong start will give the Rockies four in their last five games. On the other side, Trevor Cahill will be facing the Rockies for the third time this year, a rubber matching inside the rubber match as he has had one good and one bad outing.
