Triple-A Colorado Springs - W 9-1 (26-18)
Thumbing his nose at the newly installed humidor, outfielder Matt McBride crushed two home runs against the Dodgers affiliate in Albuquerque on Wednesday. Not to be outdone, Tyler Colvin hit his own long ball and had two walks to go with his two hit night.
Leftfielder Corey Dickerson (#7 PuRP) snapped his 18-game hitting streak, going 0-for-6. Corey has hit safely in 35 of his 38 games played this season.
Starter Jeff Manship earned the win by going 5.2 innings and scattering five hits with one earned run. Jeff struck out six batters on the night and walked only one. Manny Corpas and Mike McClendon pitched three scoreless innings in relief.
Double-A Tulsa - W 8-4 (21-23)
The Drillers defeated Oakland's affiliate, the Midland Rockhounds, in Tulsa on Wednesday. Starter Sean Gallagher earned his first win of the year by going 6.1 innings and giving up two solo home runs. Gallagher has a 1.35 ERA on the season.
Leftfielder Kyle Parker (#4 PuRP) socked his ninth home run of the year in a 1-for-4 effort. The Drillers combined to hit four home runs as Kyle Roling hit his eleventh. Cristhian Adames (#18 PuRP) and Rafael Ortega (#9 PuRP) also hit their first home runs of the season. Angelys Nina extended his hitting streak to seven games with two hits on the night. Nina has a .906 OPS on the year and is hitting .462 in his last 10 games.
Low-A Asheville - W 3-1 (24-20)
The Tourists defeated the Royals affiliate on Wednesday in Asheville. Starter Ben Hughes had his best start of the season, going seven innings and allowing only a run on three hits. Hughes struck out two and walked one batter. His ERA now sits at 6.40 on the season.
Shortstop Matt Wessinger was responsible for all the runs scored, as he went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored on the night. Wessinger slugged his sixth double of the year and is now hitting .250 on the season. First baseman Matt Argyropoulos also had two hits and a walk on the night. Tom Murphy (#15 PuRP) went 0-for-4 and designated hitter Rosell Herrera (#16 PuRP) had one hit with an RBI in the game.
