Game #50: Colorado Rockies at San Francisco Giants

The Rockies look to achieve the impossible -- or at least a rare feat -- and win a series against the Giants at AT&T park. Accomplishing this could depend on the pitching performance of Jon Garland, who has been shaky in his last few starts.

The Rockies look to bounce back and win the series by the bay after losing yesterday's game in possibly the worst way possible. With a win today, the Rockies will guarantee at least a tie for first place in the NL West. If San Diego is able to win today and wrap of their series against Arizona, a Rockies win would put them alone in that top spot. With a loss, of course, they will drop to second place.

In his last start, Jon Garland allowed 5 runs on 11 hits in the 5-1 loss to Arizona at Coors Field. Meanwhile, Matt Cain allowed 2 runs on 4 hits to the Nationals, though this great performance did not factor into the decision.

This is today's required reading. And if you are not watching the game today, please let that be because you are having and Arrested Development marathon.
