Colorado is hosting the Washington Nationals for game two of their three game series tonight. After waiting until the fifth inning last night to start scoring against the Nationals, the Rockies will look to continue where they left off last night against Ross Ohlendorf who is making his first appearance in the major leagues in 2013.
Ohlendorf struggled in the majors last year, posting an ERA over seven and is getting this opportunity due to multiple injuries to Nationals pitchers. Tyler Colvin, in particular, will look to continue his hot hitting against the veteran right hander. In his first start of the season for the Rockies last night, Tyler hit two home runs to provide the needed spark to beat Washington.
On the mound for Colorado is their de facto ace, Jorge De La Rosa. His last start not withstanding, Jorge has been dominant so far this year and will look to win this series for the Rockies so they can look for the sweep on Thursday. Jorge is going up against a Nationals lineup that is last in the league against left handed pitching, averaging just .209 against southpaws.
Also look for Rockies #1 draft pick Jonathan Gray to be in attendance, as the Rockies look to get him signed quickly.
