The Rockies have faced top-flight pitching in the series so far against the Dodgers, but they caught a break Sunday afternoon as scheduled starter Hyum-Jin Ryu was scratched from the start after taking a comebacker off his left foot in his last start. Ryu has been excellent this season, including a game in which he dominated the Rockies, striking out 12 and giving up just two runs over six innings of work.
Mat Magill (0-0 5.50 ERA) will start in his place, Magill has yet to earn a decision in four starts this year, three of which have been relatively good. His last start, May 19th against Atlanta, Magill pitched five innings surrendering one run on three hits while striking out eight.
The Dodgers lineup will also be without usual starter Carl Crawford, Crawford is day-to-day with a groin strain he suffered running to second base yesterday.
For Colorado, lefty Jorge De La Rosa (6-3 3.16 ERA) takes the mound. De La Rosa has been excellent this year, especially during the day. De La Rosa is 3-0 with a 0.71 ERA in four day game starts this year.
Also, for those that haven't seen the news already, Rex Brothers will likely pitch in any save situation with Rafael Betancourt heading to the DL.
