Colorado Rockies right-handed pitching prospect Eddie Butler will represent the club for the United States team in the 2013 MLB All-Star Futures Game, which is set to take place on Sunday, July 14 at Citi Field in New York.
Butler is 8-2 with a 2.24 ERA in 15 starts across two minor league stops this season. The 22-year-old native of Virginia has struck out a batter per inning while walking just 2.4 per nine in 34 innings at High-A Modesto after dominating the South Atlantic League in nine starts for Low-A Asheville.
Last season, Butler finished 7-1 with a 2.13 ERA, 7.3 K/9 and 1.7 BB/9 at Rookie-level Grand Junction, which plays in the notoriously hitter-friendly Pioneer League.
