Tyler Chatwood looks to continue his string of strong starts against an explosive Dodgers lineup. Meanwhile, the Rockies hope that Zack Greinke continues his rut of having a bad start after two good starts. Greinke pitched well in two out of every three games in June, but that third game each time saw him fail to get through the sixth inning.
The Rockies lineup and bench are suddenly left handed heavy, and facing Greinke almost has to be a better option than Clayton Kershaw. A quality start by Chatwood will give them a better chance than they saw last night as they were quickly down 5-0 after four innings. With the pressure of the streak gone, Michael Cuddyer can take a quick breath but needs to help this lineup that is missing Dexter Fowler and Troy Tulowitzki.
The Dodgers meanwhile are getting health and may be on the verge of meeting preseason expectations and taking over the lead of the division. Yasiel Puig is hitting well for them and their lineup is so strong that the three and four hitters of two years ago, Eithier and Kemp, have been moved down two spots to five and six. This is a tough match up for the Rox, but they need to win here at home because they may find it harder to win in LA in a week.
