The Colorado Rockies will wrap up their 7 game season series this weekend with the Miami Marlins. Miami is 3-1 against Colorado this year after coming away with the win in 3 close games last month. Miami trails the NL East and is 28.5 games behind the Braves.
Tom Koehler will make the start for Miami. He has struggled in his last three starts, giving up 11 hits in 15.1 innings of work. In his last start against Colorado, however, he did quite well - allowing one run off of eight hits in seven innings of work.
The Rockies are looking to salvage what has so far been another problematic road trip, where they are 2-5 against two other east coast opponents. They will send out Jhoulys Chacin, who will return from bereavement leave to take the mound looking for his 12th win. On a pitching staff that has had a tumultuous year, he has been the face of consistency for the Rockies. He is also facing a relatively toothless offense in Miami. Offense has been Miami's Achilles' Heel, and their only real offensive threats are Logan Morrison and Giancarlo Stanton.
Game time is 5:10 Mountain time.
