With a 1-6 mark so far on their 10-game road trip, the Colorado Rockies are looking to turn things around in the Big Apple as they begin a series against the New York Mets at Citi Field.
Tyler Chatwood was originally scheduled to get the start tonight, but has been scratched because of tightness in his hamstring. That means tonight's start falls to Chad Bettis, who gave up five runs in five innings against the Braves on Thursday in his MLB debut.
The Mets will send 23-year-old right-hander Jenrry Mejia to the mound for his third start of 2013. He has allowed just three runs in 13 MLB innings this season, missing a large portion of the year with discomfort in his forearm and elbow. He has a 4.37 ERA in his big league career so far in 68 MLB innings.
The Rockies will again be without Carlos Gonzalez tonight, with Corey Dickerson taking his place in left field and batting second ahead of Troy Tulowitzki and Michael Cuddyer. DJ LeMahieu drops to eighth in the order.
The Mets will also be without a 2013 All-Star in David Wright, with Wilmer Flores manning third base and batting sixth. Former Rockie Eric Young Jr. will be leading off and playing left field.
