Game #153 preview: Adam Wainwright vs. Tyler Chatwood

Rockies look to avenge a two hit performance from earlier in the year.

Doug Pensinger

The last time the Rockies saw Adam Wainwright, he was pitching a complete game two hitter against them in St. Louis.  Now that they have them in the friendly confines of Coors Field, they look to get revenge.  It will be difficult, as only the Reds seem to find a way to do well against the veteran.  If they can find a way to pull it off though, they will play for a series victory tomorrow from the powerful Cardinals, a good way to start the last couple weeks of the season.

Tyler Chatwood was not with the team when they made the trip to St. Louis in May as management felt he needed more time dominating triple-A after Jhoulys Chacin returned to the team from the DL.  It would be good for him to finish the season strong and get ready for next year.  He will be throwing to Jordan Pacheco behind the plate as the team tries to find a spot for the light-hitting utility man whom they hope will return to his 2012 form in 2014.

Both games in this series have gotten ugly quick, one in favor of the Rockies and the other in favor of the Cardinals.  Whichever team can get the bats going quickly against a quality starter will likely have the advantage if they can hold on for a victory.  Here are the lineups and I look forward to talking to you all in the game thread:
