Red Sox vs. Rockies: Jake Peavy vs. Jhoulys Chacin

New, comments

Rockies look for win number 73 in last home game of the year.

Doug Pensinger

As Jhoulys Chacin goes for win number fifteen, the Rockies face a familiar foe in Jake Peavy.  The Rockies will look to sweep the series and tie the season series against the Red Sox who are getting ready for the postseason as Colorado is getting ready for next season.

Along with the other NL West teams (other than the Padres), the Rockies are in the top four teams that Jake Peavy has played against in his career by number of games.  In eighteen games against the Rockies, Peavy is 4-6 with a 3.92 ERA,  making Colorado the only NL West team he has a losing record against.  With any luck, this streak will continue.

With a day off tomorrow the Rockies are able to put everyone that is healthy out to face Peavy.  I just wish this group was full of our best players.  Here are the lineups:

Red Sox:

1. Jacoby Ellsbury (L) CF

2. Shane Victorino (S) RF

3. Dustin Pedroia (R) 2B

4. David Ortiz (L) 1B

5. Daniel Nava (S) LF

6. Jarrod Saltalamacchia (S) C

7. Stephen Drew (L) SS

8. Will Middlebrooks (R) 3B

9. Jake Peavy (R) P

1. Charlie Blackmon (L) CF

2. Josh Rutledge (R) 2B

3. Troy Tulowitzki (R) SS

4. Michael Cuddyer (R) RF

5. Todd Helton (L) 1B

6. Nolan Arenado (R) 3B

7. Corey Dickerson (L) LF

8. Yorvit Torrealba (R) C

9. Jhoulys Chacin (R) P

If you are in Denver go out and enjoy the final home game of the year and Todd Helton's final home game of his Hall of Fame career.  If you are not able to get to the game, come enjoy the game thread on Purple Row.
