Taylor Featherston notches 2 hits in Arizona Fall League regular season finale

A pair of Rockies prospects were key contributors for Salt River in its season-ending loss. The Rafters will play in the AFL Championship Game on Saturday.

Rockies infield prospect Taylor Featherston went 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in the Salt River Rafters' 8-5 loss to the Scottsdale Scorpions in the regular season finale of the Arizona Fall League on Thursday.

Featherston in the second inning hit a bloop single to center field to score fellow Rockies prospect Ryan Casteel, who led off the inning with a double, to put the Rafters up by three runs early. Featherston scored later in the inning on a ground out.

The 25-year-old Texan is hitting .294/.355/.456 with six extra-base hits in 68 at-bats. He has been the best offensive performer of any of the four Rockies position players to appear in AFL play.

Casteel went 1-for-3 with the aforementioned run scored and also drove in a run on a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning.

The Rafters will take on the Peoria Javelinas in the AFL Championship Game on Saturday at 1:08 p.m. MT at Salt River Fields. The game will be televised on MLB Network and MLB.com.
