Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau homered again and finished 2-for-4 with four runs batted in to help the MLB All-Stars defeat Samurai Japan, 6-1.
Morneau, batting third in the MLB lineup, hit a run-scoring double to get his team on the board in the first inning and followed with a three-run homer in the third. The NL batting champ has two of the MLB team's three home runs in the five-game series, which has one game remaining.
"The top third of our lineup did an outstanding job," manager John Farrell told MLB's Adam Berry. "Offensively, the top three guys set the tone for us tonight."
Morneau, Yasiel Puig and Jose Altuve combined to go 8-for-12 from the top of the order, and cleanup hitter Evan Longoria added a homer for good measure. Chris Capuano held Japan to a run on four hits in five innings to give his team its first win of the series.
