Jhoulys Chacin injury: Rockies P to resume throwing in '2 to 3 days'

Positive injury-related news about a Rockies star? I'll take it!

Rob Tringali

What began as potentially devastating news for the Rockies' hopes this season has taken a turn for the better. Jhoulys Chacin, whose MRI last Monday came back clean, will resume throwing within the next two or three days, according to Troy Renck of the Denver Post.

There should still be some concern surrounding Chacin, who had the best season of his young career in 2013 with the Rockies, but that's starting to shift from "oh my God our best starter has been shut down with a shoulder injury" to "he might be behind the eight-ball a bit in terms of spring training reps."

The latter may or may not cause Chacin to not be ready when Opening Day rolls around, but I'll take that a million times over the scenarios, which involved a lost season for the 25-year-old hurler, that were initially running through my head.

Maybe this is the year, after all (it's not).
