Brett Anderson, who was acquired this off-season for Drew Pomeranz, faces his old team for the first time in Spring Training action today. The hefty lefty will take the mound against AJ Griffin and the A's today at 1:10 - in other words, it could be a match-up of Opening Day starting pitchers for both clubs. In fact, Anderson was Oakland's Opening Day starter in 2013 and might be Colorado's top starter in 2014.
Anderson's ability to stay healthy is in question, of course, but if he does stay healthy he is an excellent fit for Coors Field and for this rotation. I look forward to continuing to watch him progress this spring.
Fun fact since we're talking about Opening Day starters: Oakland hasn't won an Opening Day game since 2004, when Tim Hudson outdueled Kenny Rogers.
Los Lineups!
Colorado's got a pretty strong top of the lineup, while DJ LeMahieu is hitting 9th. In all, that's six of the eight position players I expect to see on Opening Day plus the possible starting pitcher. Jon Gray, Christian Friedrich, and Chad Bettis highlight the other Rockies pitchers who could see action today.

Per usual, we'll have a game thread up ten minutes before game time.
