In order to make room for the arrival of Tyler Chatwood, the Colorado Rockies have optioned Charlie Culberson to the Colorado Springs Sky Sox.

Many believed Chad Bettis would be the odd-man-out when Chatwood made his way back, but yesterdays injury to Brett Anderson changes the equation. Rumors have been flying around today that Anderson will likely be headed to the DL but nothing official yet. Thomas Harding says that Anderson will, in fact, need an XRay and MRI:

Stay tuned to Purple Row for further news on the Anderson injury and any other corresponding roster moves the Rockies make in the coming days as we are likely to know much more once Anderson has his procedures done.

With Josh Rutledge being called up recently, and Charlie Culberson not producing at the plate, the move makes sense (even if it is a temporary one) and hopefully the "other" Charlie can find his bat and confidence in a Sky Sox uniform.
