Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez will be in the lineup for the Rockies on Friday as they try to turn around what has been a disappointing road trip, to say the least.
Tulo and CarGo appeared in the finale against the Phillies that can only be classified as a T.E.S.S. Both players came up unbelievably un-clutch with the bases loaded in the seventh inning of a 2-2 game. Let's just chalk it up to them being cold and move on, because that's what makes me feel the best about things.
Juan Nicasio will be on the mound for the Rockies opposite Indians starter Corey Kluber, who has been excellent in May. The 28-year-old right-hander has a 2.02 ERA with 48 strikeouts and only seven walks in 35⅔ innings this month. For the Rockies, a team whose offensive struggles on the road have been well-publicized, that's not exactly a recipe for success.
Luckily, Nicasio has been pretty good this month as well, boasting a 2.10 ERA in 30 innings. Unfortunately, he's been walking the tightrope a bit in terms of not being able to miss bats and issuing a few too many walks, so hopefully that doesn't catch up to him tonight.
