Juan Nicasio is tasked with trying to stop the bleeding for a Colorado team that's lost 10 of its last 11 games. Nicasio has been disappointing his last two times out, giving up seven runs against Arizona and five against Cleveland after a run of good outings in early May.
Nicasio will face off against Mike Minor who despite his 2-4 record has pitched well this season to the tune of a 3.07 ERA. The Atlanta pitching staff as a whole has been phenomenal in 2014 as there's not a single player that's started a game for the Braves this year who has an ERA higher then 3.69.
The Colorado lineup tonight will be stronger in the infield as DJ LeMahieu will start at third base forcing Charlie Culberson to the bench and allow Josh Rutledge to make the start at second base. The Rockies' willingness to give up some defense shows you just how desperate they have become offensively. In that last 25 games, this team has scored two runs or fewer 13 times
