There will not be another full moon Friday the 13th for 35 years. It feels like it has been at least that long since the Rockies came back to win against the Giants like they did last night. Of course it comes with a price. As purplerow reported here, both Jorge De La Rosa and Troy Tulowitzki had to leave the game with injuries. We can hope that a strained back and sprained toe with be discomfort issues only and they will be able to stay in the rotation and lineup respectively but that has not been the Rockies' luck of late. On to the links:
Tulo leaves game in ninth with right toe injury - Thomas Harding
More informaiton on Troy's injury in the ninth inning. Interesting that it happened one year to the day from his rib injury. Walt Weiss needs to circle June 13th 2015 on the calendar and give Tulo the day off.
De La Rosa exits early with tight back - Thomas Harding
A bunch of news at the bottom of this article that leads with JDLR being day-to-day. Thomas Harding adds in that the Rockies have signed third-round pick Sam Howard.
Grand Junction's Rockies have become a big hit - Irv Moss
Good article giving some neat information about the Rockies' affiliate on the other side of the state. Their season will start Monday, look for upcoming articles on that team here on purplerow.
Rockies rally in the ninth for big win at San Francisco despite more injuries - Nick Groke
If you did not get enough information about the game in the game thread or game wrap, Nick provides a nice synopsis although he probably had to go to AT&T Park and deal with Giants fans to get it, so my sympathies go out to him.
The Jhoulys Chacin the Rockies have been waiting for finally arrives - Patrick Saunders
Saunders writes what we all hope is true. Last Sunday I wrote that we could expect this from Jhoulys now that he has a month of getting adjusted under his belt and he has caught up with hitters this season.
MLB releases more tracking data, names product - Dave Cameron
MLB has added some advanced tracking cameras to three stadiums this year and it gives some nice information on positional play that could make future fielding rankings better. This article shows some pictures from the new cameras and talks about the system.
It is an early game today so make sure you are ready for an afternoon start. GO ROCKIES!
