Rockies Game #61 Preview: Jhoulys Chacin looks for first win of season

Looking to snap an eight-game losing streak, the Rockies will turn to Jhoulys Chacin as he attempts to get back on track against Zack Greinke and the Dodgers

After dropping the series opener to the Dodgers last night, the Rockies will give the ball to Jhoulys Chacin, hoping both he and the team can right the ship.

Chacin will be making his seventh start of the season and will be looking for more run support than he has received so far this season. The Rockies have scored just 11 runs total in his first six starts of the season. That said, Chacin has not helped himself so far this season, either. He has a 5.51 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in 32 2/3 innings in 2013. Chacin has been good against the Dodgers in his career with eight wins and a 3.66 ERA in 15 starts against them.

The Dodgers lineup he will face looks very similar to the one Eddie Butler faced last night, with the only change for Don Mattingly being Tim Federowicz catching and batting eighth in place of Drew Butera.

Los Angeles will send veteran righty Zack Greinke to the mound this afternoon. Grienke leads the National League with eight wins in his first 12 starts of the season, and his ERA of 2.50 is his best since his Cy Young season in 2009. He has walked just 16 and struck out 83 in 72 innings in 2014. Greinke has struggled in his career at Coors Field, with a 4.58 ERA in 17 2/3 innings. He gave up nine earned runs in 10 1/3 innings in two starts at Coors last season.

Corey Dickerson and Wilin Rosario will move up in the Rockies' order this afternoon, with Dickerson batting second and Rosario hitting cleanup. Ryan Wheeler and Josh Rutledge enter the lineup for Charlie Culberson and DJ LeMahieu, batting seventh and eighth.
