Rockies 5, Dodgers 4 (10 innings): Rockies break losing streak with team effort in win over LA

It took a walkoff triple from Brandon Barnes in the tenth inning, but the Rockies won for the first time since May 27, taking a 5-4 win over the division-rival Dodgers.

Justin Morneau got a one-out single against Los Angeles reliever Chris Perez in the tenth and, after a Michael McKenry strikeout, scored when Barnes took Perez's 0-1 pitch off the wall in right-center.

The Rockies took the lead in the bottom of the second when Troy Tulowitzki scored on McKenry's base hit against Dodgers' starter Zack Greinke. The Rockies added two more in the fifth with four singles from McKenry, Ryan Wheeler, Josh Rutledge and Charlie Blackmon, taking a 3-0 lead.

Jhoulys Chacin pitched six scoreless innings, but started the seventh by walking Matt Kemp and giving up back-to-back singles to Andre Ethier before being pulled from the game in favor of Nick Masset. Masset did not get out of the jam, giving up a three-run home run to Tim Federowicz on the first pitch he threw to give the Dodgers a 4-3 lead.

However, the Rockies battled back in the bottom of the seventh. With two outs, Drew Stubbs singled, advanced to second on a throwing error, and scored on Corey Dickerson's single to tie the game at four.

The Dodgers threatened again in the eighth as Kemp led off the inning with a triple, but Brothers and Adam Ottavino got three soft ground outs to preserve the tie and giving Barnes the opportunity in the tenth.

The Rockies and Dodgers will play the rubber game of the series at 2:10 p.m. tomorrow at Coors Field. Each team will send a tough lefty out to the mound as Jorge De La Rosa takes on 2013 NL Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw.
