Rockies 5, Marlins 4 (13 innings): Dickerson goes deep in 9th, walks off in 13th

Corey Dickerson had a four hit night, including a third-deck home run and a walk-off base hit as the Rockies beat the Marlins in 13 innings.

It's Corey Dickerson's world, we're all just living in it.

The Rockies left fielder went 4-for-6 on the night and saved his best for some late-game heroics as he drove in both  the game-tying and game-winning runs in a 5-4 win over Miami.

After LaTroy Hawkins gave up a run in the top of the ninth to give Miami a 4-3 lead, Dickerson stepped to the plate with one out in the bottom of the inning against Marlins closer Steve Cishek and launched a monster home run to the third deck in right field, reminiscent of Carlos Gonzalez's walk-off homer against the Cubs in 2010, to tie the game at four.

The game remained a 4-4 tie until the bottom of the 13th, which Nolan Arenado led off with a double off the top of the left field wall, bringing Dickerson to the plate against Miami right-hander Sam Dyson. Dickerson laced the 1-0 pitch into right field and Arenado beat Giancarlo Stanton's throw to the plate, giving the Rockies a 5-4 walk-off win.

Jordan Lyles started the game for the Rockies, allowing three runs, one each in the third, fourth and fifth, in 5 2/3 innings on seven hits, walking five and striking out five.

Before Dickerson's home run in the ninth, all of the Rockies' offense came in the third, with two of the three runs they scored in the inning coming on Brandon Barnes' seventh home run of the season.

If not for Dickerson, the heroes of the night would have been the Rockies' much-maligned  bullpen. All eight relievers appeared in the game, combining to allow just one run on five hits in 7 1/3 innings with no walks and nine strikeouts, keeping the game in range  for a Rockies win, one that evened the series.

The rubber game between the two teams is tomorrow afternoon as Brad Hand takes on Christian Bergman, who will be making his return from the disabled list after more than two months. First pitch is at 2:10 Mountain time.
