A - Asheville Tourists 4, Hagerstown Suns 1

Asheville starter Zach Jemiola allowed just one run on six hits with five strikeouts in 8 1/3 innings as the Tourists beat the Hagerstown Suns, 4-1, to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five South Atlantic League Championship Series.

Three straight singles from Max White, Alec Mehrten and Emerson Jimenez in the top of the third got Asheville on the board first with a 1-0 lead, but the Suns evened the score in the bottom of the inning thanks to an infield single by Rafael Bautista that scored David Masters who had led off the inning with a double.

The Tourists took the lead for good in the top of the fourth on a two-run home run by Jordan Patterson (No. 29 PuRP) off of Hagerstown starter Reynaldo Lopez, giving Asheville a 3-1 lead. Lopez allowed three runs on eight hits in 5 2/3 innings, walking three and striking out four.

Asheville added an insurance run in the seventh on an RBI triple from David Dahl (No. 2 PuRP) that scored Jimenez to extend the lead to 4-1.

Jemiola and reliever Trent Daniel made the lead stand up and the Tourists now have an opportunity to win the South Atlantic League championship tonight in Hagerstown.
