In case you missed it, the Colorado Rockies are close to signing a player development contract with the Albuquerque Isotopes, an agreement that would mark the end of a 21-year partnership between the Rockies and the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. The Springs is the only place the Rockies' Triple-A operation has ever known, and as such, the move it eliciting strong reactions from fans and media types.
Rockies super excited to fetch those talented Albuquerque players. No one has heart to tell them that's not how it works.

@AvsAngel14 Good riddance to bad rubbish. Maybe now the @skysox will have a major league team (Astros?) that cares about player development.

@PurpleRow it just stinks that I won't be able to see Rockies prospects any longer.

@PurpleRow @krqesports Understandable, but kind of a bummer. I always thought it was so cool to have the AAA team so close/in state.

As is the case with almost anything, not all of the reaction has been negative.
@JHirsh5280 @PurpleRow @Andy_McDonnell @Rockies Better ballpark, new market to get into, WAY better logo. #TheFrontOfficeGetsSomethingRight
