Colorado Rockies close out season series with Diamondbacks behind David Hale

The Rockies and the Diamondbacks wrap up the season series tonight at 7:40MT in downtown Phoenix. Colorado is 6-12 against the D-Backs this year, 2-7 at Chase Field.

David Hale will make his 12th and final start of the season for the Rockies. Hale is 5-5 with a 6.01 ERA. In his last start, Hale worked five innings of one-run baseball to earn the win against the Dodgers.
The Diamondbacks put up five runs in 4.2 innings against Hale in late July, including a deep two-run shot to center field courtesy of Paul Goldschmidt.

Patrick Corbin, an All-Star in 2013, lost the entirety of last season to a UCL tear. Since returning from Tommy John surgery on July 4th of this year, Corbin is 6-5 with a 3.28 ERA. The 26-year old lefty is 2-0 against the Rockies this season. He throws a four-pitch fastball, sinker, slider, changeup mix, topping out in the mid to low nineties. 
The Rockies last saw Corbin on September 1st. DJ LeMahieu and Kyle Parker both homered in Colorado’s 6-4 loss to the D-Backs.

Kyle Parker is back in the starting lineup for the Rockies for the first time since September 24th. Carlos Gonzalez will begin his night on the bench with the lefty Corbin on the mound.
