2015 ALDS Game 1 Thread

This guy is back in the playoffs, even if the Rockies aren't.

Dan Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports

The Wild Card games are in the books and now we have our eight LDS teams ready to compete in the more traditional playoff series format with the two American League series starting this afternoon.

Game 1

Rockies fans will have a special interest in this game as Troy Tulowitzki returns to the playoff for the first time since 2009. It sure would be nice if he could get that World Series ring he desperately wants this season.

On the mound for Toronto will be David Price, and he'll serve as a reminder to Rockies fans that it took the Blue Jays less than a week to acquire a better pitcher to support Tulo's contributions than Colorado was able to grab during his entire decade long tenure in purple.

The atmosphere should be outstanding in this one as playoff baseball returns to Canada for the first time in 22 years. We're about to see just how loud Toronto fans can get.

Today's Lineups

TEXAS RANGERS TORONTO BLUE JAYS
Delino DeShields Jr. - CF Ben Revere - LF
Shin-Soo Choo - RF Josh Donaldson - 3B
Adrian Beltre - 3B Jose Bautista - RF
Prince Fielder - DH Edwin Encarnacion - DH
Mike Napoli - 1B Troy Tulowitzki - SS
Josh Hamilton - LF Justin Smoak - 1B
Elvis Andrus - SS Russell Martin - C
Rougned Odor - 2B Ryan Goins - 2B
Robinson Chirinos - C Kevin Pillar - CF
Yovani Gallardo - RHP David Price - LHP

Other Game 1

Later this evening (7:30 ET / 5:30 MT), the Astros will be in Kansas City to take on the defending American League Champion Royals. (No lineups posted at the time this went up)

Can you imagine how many bets you could have won five or six years ago if you told people these two teams were going to meet in the playoffs in 2015? Especially since at that point Houston was in the National League and they would have had to meet in the World Series. This is the match up that should give Rockies fans hope of turning this thing around in a few years. For now though, let's watch Tulo!
