Colorado Rockies kick off their road trip against the San Francisco Giants

The Rockies face off against the reigning 2014 World Series champions.

Bob Stanton-USA TODAY Sports

The Rockies head over to San Francisco for a three game set against the Giants following a heartbreaking loss to the Chicago Cubs on Sunday.

Eddie Butler will take the mound today for his second start of the season and just his fifth major league start of his career. Butler threw 5⅔ innings in his last start against Milwaukee, giving up two runs while striking out five and walking four. It wasn't the cleanest outing, but it was a positive sign from the young pitcher who struggled heavily in his big league call up last year.

Butler will be opposed by another pitcher with minimal major league experience, Chris Heston. Heston, who is 27, is making just his third career start. He went six innings while striking out four and walking two in his last outing against the Diamondbacks.

The Rockies will roll out their Opening Day lineup, with Carlos Gonzalez hitting second and Troy Tulowitzki hitting third.

DJ LeMahieu, who is off to a scorching hot start this year, will bat eighth. He has a batting average of .480 with an OPS of 1.040.

I recommend not tuning into the game until right before first pitch, as the Giants will be raising their 2014 Championship banner before the game, and no one needs to see that.

I kid. But seriously.

Today's game will be on ROOT and KOA.
