Colorado Rockies go for second San Francisco sweep in less than a year

The Rockies just might get another sweep in San Francisco. Yes, you read that correctly.

The Rockies look to finish off a three game sweep in San Francisco tonight against the Giants.

Tyler Matzek will head to the mound tonight for his second start of the season. Matzek’s last start against the Cubs wasn’t particularly promising, but he managed to limit the damage, allowing just one run over four innings of work. Look for Matzek to bounce back in pitcher friendly AT&T park.

The Giants will counter with right-handed pitcher Tim Lincecum. The former Cy Young award winner has struggled against the Rockies in the recent past, having an ERA of 5.00 over his last 11 starts against the Colorado offense.

Buster Posey, who was out of yesterday's lineup, will return to the Giants lineup in the cleanup spot. Matzek will need to pitch very carefully to the 2012 National Leage MVP, as Posey has been a Rockies killer over the years. Posey has a career OPS of 1.067 against Rockies' pitching.

On the offensive end, the Rockies will roll out the same lineup as yesterday's, with the exception of Michael McKenry calling the game from behind the plate in place of Nick Hundley.

DJ LeMahieu will be the player to watch tonight, as he's riding an eight game hitting streak while hitting .516 to begin the year.
