Nolan Arenado is dealing with a sore left wrist and is day-to-day, according to the team. Arenado had been in the starting lineup against the San Diego Padres, but minutes before first pitch Rafael Ynoa's name appeared on the new card. Arenado appears to have hurt his wrist during batting practice.
Arenado, who entered Monday hitting .311/.380/.644 with three home runs in 12 games, has been a highlight machine. From his amazing defense (including this play at the tarp) to sweet home runs (here and here), the 24-year-old resident at the hot corner was playing his way to an All-Star season.
It's certainly a big blow to the Rockies on Monday night during Jorge De La Rosa's return. After just half an inning, De La Rosa has surrendered five runs on six hits. The cold and wet weather also aren't helping. But there are tougher spots than a five-run deficit to get out of after only three outs.
