Weiss missed Wednesday night's game, but is expected to be released from the hospital Thursday.

Patrick Saunders reports that Rockies manager Walt Weiss underwent an emergency appendectomy last night. Weiss is expected to be released from the hospital sometime today, but there is not currently a timetable for his return. Bench coach Tom Runnells is set to manage the team in Weiss' absence.

The x-ray on Jordan Lyles' pitching hand was negative, reports Earl Bloom of MLB.com. Lyles injured the hand on a line drive off the bat of Albert Pujols in the first inning of last night's 2-1 loss.

Corey Dickerson, who had a pair of hits last night, is still feeling pain stemming from the plantar fasciitis in his left foot, Saunders reports.

First baseman Justin Morneau left Wednesday night's game in the eighth inning with dizziness, reports Bloom. Morneau has, of course, dealt with concussion issues in the past so it makes sense for the Rockies to be extra careful with anything that may be related.
