The Colorado Rockies will look for their second straight win as they take on the Giants in the opener of a four-game weekend series at Coors Field.
Ryan Vogelsong gets the start on the mound for the Giants. This will be Vogelson's seventh start of the season, and he has a 5.31 ERA and 1.49 ERA in 39 innings this season with 17 walks and 28 strikeouts. He also has a 7.92 ERA in 30⅔ innings in his career at Coors Field.
Vogelsong will face a Rockies lineup that features primarily the team's regular starters, with Wilin Rosario playing first base and batting fifth, followed in the batting order by Ben Paulsen, who is in left field. Troy Tulowitzki will bat cleanup for the second time this season, behind Charlie Blackmon, Nolan Arenado and Carlos Gonzalez.
The Rockies will send veteran righty Kyle Kendrick to the mound tonight. Kendrick has struggled in his first season as a Rockie, with a 6.70 ERA and 1.51 WHIP over 47 innings in his first eight starts. He has been better in May, with a 4.26 ERA in 17 innings over his three starts this month. However, he has a 9.00 ERA in his two starts at Coors Field this season.
The Giants also have their regular starters in the lineup tonight, with Hunter Pence in right field and batting sixth and Brandon Crawford batting seventh. Matt Duffy will get the start at third base and bat eighth tonight.
