The Colorado Rockies have won four of their last five games and welcome Carlos Gonzalez back to the lineup as they open their second series of 2015 at AT&T Park against the Giants.
Right-hander Chad Bettis will make his ninth start of the season for the Rockies. Bettis enters the game with a 3.44 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in 49⅔ innings in 2015, with 15 walks and 43 strikeouts.
Bettis faces a Giants lineup that is stocked with left-handed bats, with Gregor Blanco, Joe Panik, Brandon Belt and Brandon Crawford all stepping in from the left side.
Belt is not playing his customary first base, however, as he will be making his fifth start of the season, and 39th of his career, in left field. Buster Posey is at first base for the Giants with Andrew Susac behind the plate.
On the mound for the Giants is veteran righty Tim Hudson, who sports a 4.52 ERA and 1.35 WHIP in 14 starts this season.
The Rockies will welcome back right fielder Carlos Gonzalez after a three-game absence. Gonzalez's return to the lineup pushes Brandon Barnes to left field and Ben Paulsen back to first base. Gonzalez will slot right back in to his usual cleanup spot in the Rockies' batting order.
First pitch tonight is at 8:15 p.m. Mountain time.
