Sad news for a good guy today. The Colorado Rockies have announced that catcher Michael McKenry will be placed on the 60-day disabled list with a meniscus tear in his right knee. It means the end of his season.
The silver lining lies in the corresponding move -- Dustin Garneau will get to realize his dream of putting on a major league uniform. It remains to be seen whether or not he will get into the game and make his MLB debut tonight, but everyone should be rooting for it.
Some #Rockies news: Michael McKenry has been placed on the DL with a lateral meniscus tear in his right knee. Dustin Garneau called up.

Ryan Casteel has been recalled from the DL to take Garneau's place on the Albuquerque Isotopes roster.
Garneau is 28 and not considered a prospect in many circles, but he has become a favorite both in the Rockies organization and among many at Purple Row for his renowned ability to work with a pitching staff, produce defensively, and generally be a likable guy.
Congratulations, Dustin, may the force be with you.
