Kyle Kendrick takes the mound against James Paxton and the Mariners

Kyle Kendrick (5-12) gets the ball for the Rockies (59-83) in their final game against the Seattle Mariners (69-74). James Paxton (3-3), making his first start since May 28, will take the mound for the Mariners for his first career start against the Rockies. The Rockies will be looking to take the series having split the previous two games.

Kendrick enters the day with an ERA of 6.25 and has allowed 28 homers. He also has a FIP of 6.16, ERA+ of 74, and a WHIP of 1.55 in what's been a tough season for the veteran. Paxton, in a much smaller sample size, has an ERA of 3.70 and an ERA+ of 103 with a K/BB ratio of 2.05.

Cristhian Adames starts again at shortstop with Jose Reyes still out due to a sore achilles and Dustin Garneau will be behind the dish following Tommy Murphy's debut. Morneau gets the start at first with Wilin Rosario moving to DH and Charlie Blackmon takes Kyle Parker's spot in the outfield from last night's game.
